Tim Tebow Heisman Art Unveiled at Hall of Fame Ceremony
Oswego, KS -- Sports artist Ted Watts announced today that his portrait of 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, University of Florida quarterback was unveiled last month in South Bend, IN as part of the College Football Hall of Fame’s annual Enshrinement Weekend festivities.
Tebow is the first college football player ever to both rush and pass for 20 touchdowns in a single season and was the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy in the 73 years that the award has been given.
Nationally famed for his sports-theme art work, Watts annually paints the winner of America’s most prestigious individual sports award for feature display in college footballs’ Mecca . The art is feature displayed in a special gallery on the Hall of Fame’s top floor.
Watts, a local artist who has owned his own studio here since 1972, is the only artist who has ever made display paintings of all 73 Heisman Trophy winners.
His initial series of the first 62 Heisman Trophy Winners was unveiled August 16, 1996 in South Bend . He updates the series annually.
